Why did you start getting into SP?


I'm curious how most of you guys got into SP.

For me,... Well, sit down kiddies, it's a bit of a long story.
I was surfing on 4chan way back then, and then I saw it. I saw a beautiful thread on South Park. I laughed and went 'HAHAHA! Someones making art of South Park! What the hell!! LOL' and I lolled some more and went on my way.

Then I saw that thread again and curiously clicked on a pic.
And it was beautiful.
It was an fanart made by Babyhip, featuring Kyle and Kenny. I was in awe. I didn't even know that Kyle had red hair and that Kenny ever took off his hoodie! That was so wrong! Did they completely make it up?!

But it was too late. I couldn't stop. I went to babyhips webpage... and got curious about the SP episodes, having never really seen them. So I started watching them... and I never looked back.

Ah.. *wipes tears* Such a long time ago...

How about you guys? What got you into SP?

well, i actually saw my first episode when i was eight (woodland critter christmas) and i was completely terrified of it and started crying! xD

so last year they were doing reruns and i was flicking through the channels and the same episode was on, and i couldnt stop laughing. ):

so i became obsessed.

Well, many moons ago, when I was a wee child, I was 'spying on the adults' at my uncle's house, and they were watching a South Park tape someone brought. I heard Cartman say "THIS BEER TASTES LIKE PEE" And then I remember someone saying "WELL LOOK KENNY'S DRINKIN' IT" And being mesmerized by beer, pee, and the pretty colours.
From THAT MOMENT ON I KNEW THAT South Park was a gift from the lawd almighty.

Well, I actually started seeing it as soon as it was being aired on TV in my area (I dunno if the air dates were different or anything, seeing how I live in Canada... sometimes they are).
It was my auntie and uncle who watched it all the time. So I... just sorta kept getting exposed to it. My mom (I was obviously a lot younger back then XD) wasn't too happy about my auntie getting me to watch something like what SP was. I didn't really LOVE it back then. I tried to be respectful to my mom XD; didn't watch it unless it was already on. I did start liking it more and more over time though.

Well, I always knew about South Park. I never really watched more than an episode every now and then. But then I saw the fanart, and I thought, "Oh wow, how cool!" It's been love ever since.

I see 4chan everywhere. What is it?

My parents never allowed me to watch it as a kid, which really made me want to watch it more! XD

I was really big on SP a while ago, and just recently got REALLY back into it! XD <3

That sounds like it'd make sense XD Everyone else here seemed to have seen it when they were kids... the most I remember about SP was in 4th grade when the teacher was bitching about it, but I never watched it till like... 11th grade? And I thought it was retarded and changed the channel LOL

Back when I was eight(or so) I turned on the TV at exactly 21:58.
I searched for something to watch and there it was. South Park(22:00) in the now dead "Locomotion".

It was the first time I decided to watch a South Park episode. Funny thing, destiny decided to show me a rather different episode. The episode that tells the Spanish's kid origins played and I watched in the darkness of my room.

It was a weird episode, yet something made me watch South Park the next day, a completely different episode using the usual SP elements.
And so it started, its been 8 years(or so) since then... and I still can't get enough ^.^
